Save Up To $500 In Taxes By Installing A Metal Roof!

Homeowners that install an Energy Star qualified metal roof in 2011 may be eligible for a tax credit worth 10% of the installation costs (materials only), or up to $500 per home. This program is a result of the Tax Rate extension signed in December, 2010 and was designed to encourage homeowners to invest in the energy efficiency of their homes.

Americans spend roughly $40 billion annually to air condition buildings - one sixth of all electricity generated in this country. Metal roofs have been shown to save up to 40% on cooling costs by reflecting the sun's energy and cooling attic temperatures. For this reason, metal roofs with highly reflective paint and coating systems are qualified as Energy Star products. The House of Metal Roofs offers many colors that are Energy Star qualified and eligible for the program.

To receive the tax credit, have your metal roof installed between January 1, 2011 and December 31, 2011. Be sure to obtain certification that the metal roof you're installing is Energy Star qualified. Fill out Form 5965 when filing your taxes to calculate your savings.
